The formal investiture will probably take place in Mexico City after Hamilton removed any doubt about where the championship is heading. Although Sebastian Vettel overtake Hamilton during the first lap, the balance of power was soon restored. In fact, Hamilton was reported as saying that he was surprised that Sebastian did not attempt to defend more on the track. Vettel is said to have fallen victim to a misguided Ferrari strategy.
